Palermo’s Win ’08 Invitational:

What a weekend Dom Palermo and his brother, Bob, had this year at the Men’s Invitational.  Dom Started out the practice round Thursday, registering a hole in one on hole #17, and the two of them dominated play all weekend totaling the highest number of points in the event’s round robin competition. In the flight winner’s playoff to determine this year’s Champion, Bob eagled hole #1 for a net one and the team held on to win the Invitational. Congratulations to all 24 teams that participated in this year’s event. Flight winners in addition to the Palermo’s were Aaron Foust and Scott Astorino, Jesse Shriver and Graham Kukucka, and Fred Bonello and Ernie Certo.

Other June golf event winners were Sid Toy in the President’s Cup (June 8) and in the Father’s Day event the winning team was Denny Stewart, Jim Kutsch and Jon Drew. Eric Whelan won the Open raffle this year

Food Service:

Just to review our offerings, on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings we offer “The Inn” menu in the grillroom.  On Thursday and Friday evenings Garda’s offers featured dinner entrees as well as a sandwich and salad menu. “The Inn” menu is again available on Saturday afternoon.  Members are asked to spend a minimum of $20 for the month in food purchases. If you are charged a dining minimum, you will receive a certificate valid for use through the rest of the season.

Pratkanis Playing Well in WPGA Events:

KCC’s Jon Pratkanis has been playing a full slate of tournaments this summer and had strong showing at both the WPGA Amateur (finished tied for fifth at Bedford Springs with scores of 70-75-72) and in the West Penn Open (finished tied for fourth at Butler CC shooting 69-69 for a 138 total). He will continue to play both regional and state events this summer.  Ann Colligan, KCC Women’s Champion and a top ten PIAA finalist, is playing some state and AJGA events this summer after recovering from a broken wrist suffered in softball season. Good Luck to both of our accomplished amateur players.
